Looks like we’ll have some new iPads to talk about this autumn after all.
As originally reported on AllThingsD and then “confirmed” by the ever-reliable Jim Dalrymple, Apple is planning an event for October 22, at which it will presumably roll out a new iPad or two.
While the reports focus on iPads, remember that we’re also waiting on the next version of OS X Mavericks and that cool new Mac Pro; the first was promised this fall, the second sometime this year after its preview during this summer’s Worldwide Developers Conference. AllThingsD’s John Paczkowski (who does have an excellent track record when it comes to forecasting these things) says his sources indicate those two other products could get some attention at the October 22 event, as well.
Apple itself has not yet confirmed the reports or responded to our request for comment. We’ll let you know when the company does let us know, one way or the other. And, of course, we’ll be there with live coverage on October 22—if, in fact, the event takes place.
