A group of independent developers is banding together to offer deep discounts on their premium iOS apps for the holiday shopping season.
App Santa is a collaboration of ten companies—including big names like Readdle, Tapbots, Agile Bits, and RealMac—offering 15 of their apps, for discounts of up to 60 percent.
The apps include such prominent programs as Clear+ and Tweetbot, both down to $2 from their usual $5. Other discounts include a cut from $18 to $10 for 1Password, $10 to $7 for PCalc, and $7 to $3 for Calendars 5.

The sale is somewhat different from other similar offerings that can be found this time of year—often either a big company like Electronic Arts offers a unilateral sale, or groups of apps are offered by third-party bundle makers like Humble Bundle and Mac Bundle. In this case, though, the app developers are partnering together to directly draw attention both to their apps and to the holiday discount—no gimmicks or games. And it’s you, the customer, that benefits!
