Adobe launches Photoshop Photography Program for Creative Cloud

Heeding the call of photographers since the dawn of Creative Cloud, Adobe has launched a new photography program specifically targeting Photoshop and Lightroom users. It offers an extremely sweet deal to photographers who have no use for 80 percent of what the current Creative Cloud subscripton provides.

With this bundle, Adobe offers the latest versions of Photoshop CC and Lightroom, including feature updates and upgrades as they are available, just like a regular Creative Cloud subscription. In addition, subscribers get 20GB of cloud storage for file sharing and collaboration, a Behance ProSite, and access to training resources.
The new program was announced at the Photoshop World keynote and will take effect in a couple of weeks, in tandem with the release of Lightroom 5.2. Adobe's Winston Hendrickson, a senior vice president, followed up with a blog post to explain. "Since introducing Photoshop CC, we’ve listened to feedback from a spectrum of our customers, from advanced professionals to casual enthusiasts. One common request was a solution specifically tailored for photographers. We listened, and we’re announcing a special offer for our loyal Photoshop customers."
While Lightroom is currently available as part of the Creative Cloud subscription, it was the one crossover package that also came in a box. Photographers who were exclusively interested in Photoshop either subscribed to Creative Cloud and got Lightroom in the bundle, or subscribed just to Photoshop and bought Lightroom separately for.
This Photography Program is a better deal all around, as it provides Creative Cloud benefits plus Lightroom at half the price that Photoshop subscribers once paid for that subscription alone.
The deal is available now through Dec. 31 for customers who own a previous version of Photoshop or Photoshop Extended, version CS3 or later (CS3.x, CS4, CS5.x, or CS6). It requires an annual commitment with monthly billing, just like other Creative Cloud subscriptions. Photoshop CC single-app members will be automatically transitioned to this new program. Adobe says other Creative Cloud members who want to convert their subscriptions should contact Adobe Customer Service to discuss moving to this new offer.
