Over the past 16 years, Serv-U has become the industry's most popular FTP server guaranteeing compatibility with the majority of FTP clients on today's market. Serv-U has always been on the cutting edge of the FTP protocol with support for on-the-fly compression of data transfers, XCRC integrity checking, and MDTM file date/time modification support. In February 2002, our system became one of the first FTP servers to implement SSL (Secure Socket Layer) secured FTP transfers. Using the same technology employed by web browsers for encrypted communications, this security is extended to the FTP protocol to ensure your FTP login credentials and transferred data is safe from prying eyes.

Central IT Cloud File Server supports SFTP, a division of the popular SSH protocol. SFTP is an alternative to FTPS that offers secure file transfers with some added benefits. SFTP communications take place over a single connection, eliminating the firewall hassles normally associated with the FTP protocol. Full-featured SFTP transfer clients are included in most Linux distributions making it a good transfer protocol choice for administrators with a diverse number of platforms to support.
• Support for SFTP versions 5 & 6 (via SSH2), in addition to SFTP versions 3 and 4.
• Added support for aes128-ctr, aes192-ctr, aes256-ctr encryption algorithms in the SSH2 protocol.
