Google's All Access music service coming to iOS "a couple weeks from now"

In my hands-on with Google’s new All Access subscription music service, I bemoaned the lack of support for Apple customers and didn’t think we’d see it in the foreseeable future: “And given that Google doesn’t even offer an official Play Music app for iOS devices, I don’t expect to see All Access on the iPhone or iPad anytime soon.”

Turns out I was wrong. On Thursday at the All Things D conference, Google’s Senior Vice President of Chrome and Apps, Sundar Pichai, told Walt Mossberg that Google is hard at work on an iOS version and expects to bring it to the App Store shortly:
We brought Google Now to iOS. A couple weeks from now we will launch Google Play Music All Access for iOS, the teams are working like crazy to do it.
Although I found All Access a work in progress when I took a look at it, it’s always nice to see more options—and competition—in the subscription music space, so I’m happy to see Google is reaching out of the Android comfort zone here.
Of course, any iOS app will require approval from Apple. But as long as Google doesn’t try to allow people to subscribe within the app, I see no reason why it won’t see the light of day—just as with other subscription music service apps already on the Store.
Interestingly, the $2 unofficial gMusic app already figured out how to support All Access.
